Every month Watchman Magazine will feature one link which has material of value to our readers. This month's link is authored by Tom Thrasher, a gospel preacher and debater who currently lives in Decatur, Alabama

Brother Thrasher's Debate Encyclopedia is perhaps the most extensive index of religious debates (by Christians) that has been compiled. The online version is given in preparation for the publication of a book on the subject. Note the following excerpt from the site:

For many years I have been collecting information from every available source with a view to one day publishing an Encyclopedia of Religious Debates. I plan to publish the first edition of this volume within the next year. The major sections of the work will be as follows:

• Scriptural Authority For Debating
• A History of Religious Controversy
• A Manual of Religious Debating
• Debate Listings
• Photographs of Gospel Preachers
• Photographs of Denominational Debaters
• Miscellaneous Debate Photographs
• Bibliography of Published Debates

I am attempting to make the "Debate Listings" section as complete as possible by adding new data on a daily basis. However, I recognize that this section will never be complete. I have not yet been able to research all of the thousands of books and periodicals that potentially contain this type of information. Furthermore, many debates that have occurred were not mentioned in books or periodicals. Consequently, I have decided to make use of the internet to gather additional information. First, if you have participated in a formal oral or written religious debate, check your listing for accuracy and completeness. Second, if you have knowledge of particular debates that were held, check to see if the data is included. In either case, please e-mail me any information you have that would add to or correct what I already have listed.

• Incomplete transcripts of several debates brother Thrasher has held
