Learning New Testament Greek

Every month Watchman Magazine will feature one link which has material of value to our readers.

This month's Link is a tremendous example of the potential the Internet has for resource and Bible study. The site is extremely well designed, and is one of very few sites I have found which uses frames well. The left frame contains the table of contents, the top right frame is the main window which contains the text of each lesson, and the bottom right frame is used to give definitions of terms.

While by no means an exhaustive study of New Testament Greek, the site is a good place to start if one is interested in acquainting himself with that language. Additional resources are listed on site.

The site is divided up into the following eight sections:

  1. The Value of Learning New Testament Greek
  2. Introduction to This Presentation of Learning New Testament Greek
  3. Precursory Items and English Grammar
  4. Greek Grammar, Shorter Explanations
  5. More Detailed Explanations of Greek Terms
  6. Other Resources
  7. Applications of Greek Grammar to New Testament Passages
  8. List of All Documents being Used on Site

Disclaimer: This site is supplied by the Ministry of the Word Website. This organization is sectarian, and a cursory look at their home page revealed the typical "pray the sinners prayer" approach to salvation. Visitors are cautioned against utilizing the site for doctrinal considerations. However, it seems to be a good resource for a simple study of the Greek language.
