January 1999 (2:1) What Don Patton Thinks About Fellowship and Romans 14
- Brother
Don Patton has long claimed that he has been misrepresented in his teaching on the subject of fellowship, specifically with regard to the 14th chapter of Romans. Others have taken up his claims of misrepresentation, and ran with them without examining the evidence. It is sinful to misrepresent the teaching of any man. However, in this case, the names of godly men have been sullied by Patton's claims. It simply is not true. Of course, we do not expect anyone to take such assertions at face value.
- This month's Featured Link on Watchman contains complete documentation of the error that Don Patton espouses regarding fellowship.
February 1999 (2:2) Learning New Testament Greek
- This
month's Link is a tremendous example of the potential the Internet has for resource and Bible study. The site is extremely well designed, and is one of very few sites I have found which uses frames well. The left frame contains the table of contents, the top right frame is the main window which contains the text of each lesson, and the bottom right frame is used to give definitions of terms.
While by no means an exhaustive study of New Testament Greek, the site is a good place to start if one is interested in acquainting himself with that language. Additional resources are listed on site.
- Disclaimer: This site is supplied by the Ministry of the Word Website. This organization is sectarian, and a cursory look at their home page revealed the typical "pray the sinners prayer" approach to salvation. Visitors are cautioned against utilizing the site for doctrinal considerations. However, it seems to be a good resource for a simple study of the Greek language.
